He is an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States nominated by the former president George Walker Bush on October 31, 2005.

He is one of the conservative justices of the federal government of the United States.

Samuel Alito is married to Martha-Ann Alito, a former law librarian, since 1985. Samuel and Martha-Ann have two children named Philip Alito and Laura Alito.

Alito was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the US Army Signal Corps.

He has also written a book titled The RICO Racket.

On December 1 1969, Alito was deployed to serve in the Vietnam War. He served in the Army Reserve between the period of 1972 and 1980.
